
Meet Dr. Olivia Barner
VMDDr. Olivia Barner, originally from Valencia, Pennsylvania, has wanted to be a veterinarian since she was four years old. She completed her undergraduate studies at Penn State in State College, PA where she majored in Veterinary and Biomedical Sciences and minored in International Agriculture. After graduating in 2021, she went on to veterinary school at The University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia tracking in Mixed Animal studies. She was also dually enrolled in the Masters of Public Health program in the Perelman School of Medicine and graduated with her MPH in 2024. She finished her vet school studies in May of 2025 completing outside externships with the USDA, Pennsylvania State Department of Agriculture, and others. She has also volunteered with the Pittsburgh Zoo and Belize Zoo, and has tracked monkeys and jaguars in the Belizean jungle. She is excited to be back close to home and working with our clinic!
Dr. Barner’s professional interests include client education, nutrition, small ruminants, exotics, senior care, and public health, among many others. She is looking forward to cultivating relationships in the pursuit of healthy pets! When she is not in the clinic, she can be found at home either reading books or watching Netflix dramas with her Maine Coon cat, Mr. Darcy. She also loves to try new restaurants and thrift on her days off as well as travel to new places both local and abroad.
